It’s great to see the back of the snow and to be able to get around the place (trying to avoid the potholes!). We have received a large number of inquiries from customers asking if we would cater for the upcoming Communions and Confirmations.

As you know we are a small operation where the focus in on quality and attention to detail. After giving the matter a good deal of thought we have decided to cater for a small number of Communications and Confirmations, we want to provide the best service we can and keep a special atmosphere for this great occasion.

Due to the fact that so many children have Communion or Confirmation at the same time we are severely restricted in the number of customers we can accommodate.

Another year, another set of courses and classes – details of the Spring/Summer schedule are now available on our website (here).

We have some very interesting classes this year including “Catering for Communions & Confirmations” (Wed 24th Feb), “Spoil your Mother for Mothers Day” (Sat 13th March) and “Easy Entertaining – Tapas & Wine Tasting with Sommelier” (Sat 8th of May). Our “Tapas & Wine Tasting” will feature an expert in wines who will be happy to provide advice, guidance and tips. This day course is a must for wine lovers!

A very belated Happy New Year to everyone, I hope that the New Year will be both peaceful and prosperous for all. I would like to take this opportunity to thank all my family, friends and students for their help and support over the last year. It would not have been possible without you, so many thanks.

I was delighted to see my book mentioned by the Irish Independent food writer and critic Georgina Campbell on Saturday (2nd Jan). She also included my recipe for Luxury Cottage Pie, it was a bit of a shock to see my pots on display in a national paper! You can read the article here.

After a lengthy struggle we finally have our broadband connection up and running again at Ryeland House. Normal service can resume again with both our landline phone and Internet access working as they should.

Just to let you know, we have been having severe problems with our phone lines and broadband connection here at Ryeland House. The line has been broken for a couple of weeks and Eircom don’t seem to be in a hurry to fix it.

This means that there may be a slight delay in answering emails and updating the blog and website, but don’t worry we will get to them as quickly as we can.

We had a fantastic time in Callan last night with a cookery demonstration for over 200 people. The demonstration helped raise school funds for Colaiste Eamon Ris in Callan. There was a great response to the book with quite a few people buying a copy.

Update to pre-Christmas classes, due to cancellations we have 2 places available for the evening class on Wednesday 16th of December. The evening will focus on Christmas cooking and promises to be very enjoyable.

There are only 2 places remaining on the day course on Saturday the 19th of December so if you are interested don’t delay in booking.

Just to let you know, the only pre-Christmas class that has available places is the day course that takes place on Saturday 19th of December. If we have any cancellations for booked places on our other classes we will post them here and on the website.

Hi All, in the run up to Christmas we have added the ability to buy gift vouchers for our cookery classes to our web site. The vouchers are available in various values and can be used to pay for an evening class or day course where places are available.

We are currently also working on our class schedule for next year and we will post the details of upcoming classes both here and on our web site. Check back for info!
