Shorter Days
The days are starting to get shorter after a disappointing Summer and we are starting to get ready for our Autumn and Winter classes here at The Lodge at Ryeland.
If you are using SatNav to find us our new Eircode is R85X6WA and we are really looking forward to welcoming you to the lodge which is located close to the original entrance to Ryeland.
Catering Service: We are now offering our catering service for private events and dinner parties of 10 - 12 people and would love to help you with your special occasion. If you would like to talk to Anne about catering for your special event feel free to contact her by phone [086-2767656] or email [ryelandhouse@gmail.com].
The Selection & Preparation of Fish Classe is back: Due to the popularity of our previous day classes that focused on seafood we are delighted to once again announce a very special master-class and demonstration on the handling and preparation of fresh fish on Saturday
2nd of November 2024. On arrival you will be served scones, lemon drizzel cake and tea or coffer prior to the start of the demonstration, which will be delivered by our master fishmonger Liam
who will explain how to choose fish that is really fresh and will demonstrate how to prepare it for cooking. When he has finished
preparing the seafood, Anne will show you how to cook it to perfection. Tastings will go on throughout the demo and lunch will be served at approximately 2:00, with an estimated finish time of 2:30pm. Lunch includes starter, seafood main, glass of wine with coffee
and dessert to finish.
Take the stress out of Christmas cooking: Our Christmas cookery classes are starting towards the end of November, and they are available as day or evening classes.
This year we have a class focused on festive nibbles and bites that are ideal for a casual get together and will help make any gathering of family or friends a sucess. Places in these classes usually go very quickly, so if you are interested in securing a place
don't leave it until the last minute.
Last year we hosted several small group (maximum 14 people) Corporate Team Building events at Ryeland House which were a great sucess. Rebuilding teams after Covid will be vital and if you are looking for an alternative to the usual team building activities we would be delighted to discuss the various options available.
If you are thinking of hosting a special event to celebrate post Covid and you are looking for somthing different why not have a customised event at Ryeland House. You are guaranteed a great athmosphere and of course some really fabulous food. We can plan your event with you to ensure that it really meets your needs.
Ryeland House Cookery can also cater for your special occasion [that significant party or after wedding event] at the location of your choosing.

Customised Classes, Hens & Stags: We have recently hosted some very enjoyable Hen Nights for ladies who were looking for something a little bit different. Hen partys can be booked for evening or day times and range from full cookery classes to hands-on scone and bread making sessions.
We would also like to remind you that Ryeland House caters for groups of people who might like to book a customised class for themselves and their friends as an alternative evening out. Anne will devise a special class based on your requests and you can also bring your own wine.
As well as running her popular classes at Ryeland House Anne is also the author of two cook books. There is a review her book "Food for Sharing" by Conor Kane in the Irish Examiner (Friday 7th Oct 2011) and you can read it here. Gift vouchers are available from here.
Information: Don't forget that Anne's radio production "The Cookery Slot" goes out at 11.30 am every Thursday morning during the Sue Nunn show "On the Record". During the show Anne has lots of tips and help for listeners and you can find some of Anne's fabulous Ryeland House Cookery School recipes here on the radio station's website.
Anne has also worked with various schools and colleges to develop and deliver cookery courses that combine the theory of cooking with a very strong practical element. In all her work, Anne's focus has been on the creation of great tasting, wholesome food made with the best possible local ingredients. Throughout her career Anne has been a very strong advocate for local Artisan food producers and has strived to pass this passion on to her students. She feels that cooking is an activity that should be enjoyed and Anne has a fresh, fun approach to her classes.
